finals week and miscellaneous comments

it's 12:50am right now, technically tuesday morning. just got back from the gym with jacob, and i am heeeeellaaa sore. i've got my ls3 final tonight, which should be 3 hours of unrivaled fun. finals week is blowing by quick. whereas some people havent even taken a single final yet, i've gone through two already. my next one is in less than 24 hours and my last one is on friday. after that, i'll be having 3 weeks full of rest and basal cortisol levels.

in the meantime, the devil carnate has chosen to harass me via aim again, and i am once again left both helpless and speechless -

[22:59] fuzzypanda00: final tomorrow right?
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: goodluck!
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: or

[22:59] fuzzypanda00: you look like a girl
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: i wish i was a pokemon trainer
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: so i could call out all the charmanders
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: and beat them all with my awesome squirtle
[22:59] fuzzypanda00: that is all
[00:49] KeNsHiN x 08: wow
[00:49] KeNsHiN x 08: WOW dude
[00:51] fuzzypanda00: i'm
[00:51] fuzzypanda00: i'm just trying to help...
[00:51] fuzzypanda00:

once finals week is done with, i'll be providing a more meaningful post. really, all i've been doing lately is studying and messing around with my kickass roommates and suitemates. it's been a fun quarter, but definitely lacking in productivity compared to last year. hopefully that'll change once 2009 rolls around. in the words of ma jae yoon, "i will destroy everyone in 2009". i think only two of my friends will recognize the reference (steven and andy).

go lakers! kb24!!

here's a civics test to see if you, as an american citizen (or resident alien, or illegal immigrant :P), are fulfilling your civic duty by being knowledgeable about the nation you pledge allegiance to, or are leeching off of. and yes, i ended the last sentence with a preposition. i do that a lot, thanks.

http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/quiz.aspx

i got a 27/33. i thought i was gonna pass with a legit >90% until the questions started heading towards the economy. since when was economics part of american civics? anyway, here are the questions i got wrong -

Question #7 - D. Gettysburg Address
Question #13 - E. certain permanent moral and political truths are accessible to human reason
Question #14 - B. stressed the sinfulness of all humanity
Question #28 - C. requires those with higher incomes to pay a higher ratio of taxes to income
Question #29 - B. a resident can benefit from it without directly paying for it
Question #33 - D. tax per person equals government spending per person

just shows you how much i know about economics. i don't think i've ever been in a true econ class (no offense, mr. fox haha). otherwise, i'm pretty happy with an 80ish percent. it seems to top the avg american quite a bit, and even some of our elected officials. so, i can declare myself a baller when it comes to civics. if you're owning the quiz, then you are a baller too. we can be civic ballers together

week 9 means finals are soon. time to own! or get owned.

kobe kicked ass tonight.

man, these last couple of days have been way too sluggish for my liking. you know, those days where you just absolutely CAN NOT focus and get work done. your head's telling you to do one thing and your heart is steering you to the complete opposite direction, and you end up just not getting anything done. yeah, the last few days have been like that for me. and there wasn't really anything that was troubling or bothering me. kinda weird, huh

the good thing is i actually feel a little more motivated and driven right now. steven and david went with me to the gym, and we did quite a bit. maybe its just the endorphins kicking in, but it's a lot easier for me to focus right now.

lakers lost to the pistons. i think adding iverson to their lineup is really going to make them a strong team. the fact that he can drive into the lane so effectively can really throw off any team's defense. drive in and kick it out to price, wallace etc and you've got a pretty good chance at getting a bucket each possession. not to mention iverson is a hella good finisher. kobe hasn't been having efficient games at all lately. lets hope he gets his shot back and starts consistently shooting over .500.

hmm so whats going down this week. just one midterm on thursday, which is nice. a cs project due, and chem labs. all that seems like so little, but it feels like so much more. and freakin cs. takes like 20 hours a project for me WTF. so glad im not a cs major

friends are going to karaoke on friday, but i can't make it. NOOOOOO!!!!!

woops so it might have been over a week, i don't know.

tons of stuff going down right now. i'm trying to figure out the activities that i want to stay vested in for the next few years, and it's a pretty comforting process knowing that my attention won't be spread out too thin in the next couple of years.

cs31 midterm is this week. also a couple laker games (and wow, we are seriously owning it up right now). gotta build up my stamina again and play some ball.

woot woot pew pew

okay, i've been telling myself to stay committed to this blog and update on a regular basis (so basically, update once a week), but i'm still finding it difficult to do that.

this week passed by ridiculously fast. i'm having so much fun with my roommates and suitemates these days that i'm not left with much time to sleep sufficiently, exercise regularly, or study effectively. ls3 is a really interesting class, but the hardest class to study for that i've had in awhile. the molecular bio book that ucla uses isnt the best. first book i've had in awhile where they don't bold important terms and have good diagrams. makes learning molecular bio kind of difficult, at least for me

i've been watching the lakers preseason game highlights, and it seems like theres a lot of team chemistry issues that need to be worked out. the only way i see things working out in the front court is odom coming off the bench as sixth man, which a lot of people have been saying already (and hopefully by the end of the year he can steal the sixth man award from manu ginobolisofaifiasdjgaga however you spell it. that guy has how many of those awards now?) big bynum is looking good. he's got a good shooting touch away from the post, but i haven't seen any pre-season game recaps of him working deep in the post and showing dominance. hopefully he'll show everyone that he has a pair and ends up muscling anyone that drives in the paint, cuz we seriously need that.

gonna be a really busy week. midterms and a bunch of crap next week. time to GET THINGS DONE ASDGAGNKAGJNADKFJAFNA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

shoutout to tom: sup MAN. guess who i saw playing sc tonight? hint: letters "l", "e", and "e" are involved. its time for you to pick up sc again mannnn

blogging again?

my clock reads 11:39am right now. ideally, i would be in ls3 lecture right now paying very close attention to a myriad of powerpoint slides regarding molecular bio.

the operative word being ideally.

i'm actually sitting in RT714 staring into my laptop, writing my first entry for this blog.

so i've decided to blog again for two reasons: 1) reading tom chen's entries is pretty fun and funny, even though i have no idea what he's talking about half the time and 2) not having any humanities classes for over a year has taken a huge toll on my capacity to write anything with a respectable amount of logic.

i'm aiming to write something around once a week, most likely about the things i've been up to. and sometimes with funny pictures, if i can figure out an easy way to upload pics.

alright, off to campus.
